Best Christmas Gifts For Dogs

Wondering what the best Christmas gifts for dogs are?

It’s that time of year again. The season of joy, happiness, and giving. And what better way to give than by giving your favorite furry friend a gift? Dogs are always excited to get gifts, but they don’t need anything fancy or expensive in order to be happy with their presents.

They will love you no matter what you get them! So before you make your list for Santa Claus this year, take some time out and think about these great gift ideas for dogs.

Christmas is a time of giving and sharing, but can your four-legged family members participate? Of course! Here are gifts you could give to your dog this holiday season.

A Dog Bed

Big Barker 7″ Pillow Top Orthopedic Dog Bed for Large and Extra Large Breed Dogs (Headrest Edition)

Every dog needs a place to sleep, and every dog owner knows that dogs love to try and claim your bed. So why not give them their own special spot?

Dog beds come in all shapes and sizes, so there is no limit to what kind you can get for your pup. You can find some really fun beds like sleeping bags or even tents that mimic the feeling of being outside. Your dog will be so happy to have a place of its own to curl up and sleep.

For those of you who own very large dogs or dogs that enjoy chewing up their beds, I recommend the Big Barker dog bed brand. They have many fantastic reviews where it counts (ex: Reddit) praising the durability of their products.

Chew Toys

Fairwin Ultra-Durable Dog Chew Toys for Aggressive Chewers

Puppies love to chew, and older dogs rarely outgrow this habit. The best thing you can do is teach your dog what it can chew on. This will make your dog happy because they are getting something they like, and also protect your belongings from being destroyed by your loving canine friend. There are many types of chew toys for dogs, so you can find one that will be just perfect for your pooch.

Treat-Dispensing Ball

Dog Treat Toy Ball / Dog Tooth Cleaning Toy

Dogs can never have enough treats! And this is a gift that will keep on giving even after the holiday season when you want to give your dog a yummy present. You can buy balls that dispense treats when pushed around with their nose or played with in other ways. This is something your dog will love and look forward to every day.

Holiday Squeaky Toy

ZippyPaws Latex Mini Donutz – (3-Pack)

ZippyPaws – Donutz Squeaky Plush Dog Toy

It’s no secret that dogs love squeaky toys. They are now available in holiday themes, so your dog can have a toy to celebrate whatever occasion you want! So even if your dog has all the chew toys and treats it could ever need, give them a holiday squeaky dog toy to show how much you care this Christmas.

Zelda has both the plush and latex version of these toys and loves both! If you want a toy that lasts for a long time, I highly recommend opting for the latex version. They’re very easy to clean.

Ball Launcher

ChuckIt! Sport Ball Launcher

If you have a bigger dog, give them the gift of a ball launcher so they can play fetch all year round. There are lots of different kinds out there, from simple slingshots to automatic ball launchers that take the work out of playing with your dog. The more effortless this toy is to use, the better it will be for you, so choose one that will fit your lifestyle.

Training Treats

Zuke’s Pumpkins and Trees Seasonal Treats

Whether you have a puppy that requires obedience training or an already trained adult dog, training treats are a must. Even an old dog can be taught new tricks, but most importantly, dog training never really ends.

Throughout your dog’s life, you keep them mentally sharp and obedient, training must be maintained. All this aside, dogs love treats, even if they’re for training.

Safety Harness for Car Travel

While it might not be the most fun gift on this list, a safety harness for car travel is important to any dog owner. This way your dog can ride safely in the car and not distract you while you’re driving or become a dangerous projectile in case of an accident.

When searching for a dog safety harness meant for car travel, make sure the product is crash-tested. There are only a few companies that do extensive testing, which makes it easier to shop for in a way.

The company we used for Zelda’s car safety is called Sleepypod. As a bonus, they have some really cute colors to choose from.

Collars and Leashes

GoTags Personalized Dog Collar

Collars and leashes are a given for every dog, but it’s also another opportunity to get your dog something they would love. There are many different kinds of collars and leads available on the market, so you can choose one that fits the personality of your pooch.

I like to keep two kinds of collars on hand. For regular use, I prefer a dog collar that can help get my dog back to me in case of an emergency. GoTags allows you to provide your dog’s name and your contact information.

The second kind of collars I like to have are cute ones of course! Etsy has loads of adorable seasonal collars.

Old Fashion Christmas Dog Collar

Dog Grooming Supplies

Grooming your dog at home is a great way to bond with them and show how much you love and care for them. There are many different kinds of supplies available, from brushes and combs to nail clippers and shavers. And don’t forget about shampoo!

I personally love to keep dry shampoo on hand to extend the time between Zelda’s washes.

Dog Gear for Travel/Camping

For those who love to go on camping trips or take long road trips with their dog, there are lots of options for comfortable and practical travel gear.

There are many different kinds of outdoor items you can get your dog to make their life outside easier. These include beds, cooling systems, and food and water bowls that attach to leashes. These are especially great products because they can be used for exercise as well as travel and camping.

For long camping trips or vacations, I recommend having a durable and comfortable dog backpack. Even if you have a large dog, you can still carry them!

Dog Puzzle Games

Dog puzzle games are another way to keep your dog mentally stimulated. Many dogs suffer from boredom and depression when left alone all day, and this can lead to destructive behavior.

Playing with a dog puzzle game is a great way to get your dog exercising, while also maintaining their mental health and stability. These games come in all different shapes and sizes, so it’s up to you to find one that your dog will enjoy.

Be sure to check out my favorite dog toys and games for playing with Zelda.

Dog Monitor

Petcube Bites 2 Wi-Fi Pet Camera with Treat Dispenser

Some dogs, especially smaller ones, can get into trouble when you’re not there to watch them. With a dog monitor, you can keep an eye on your dog from anywhere in the world.

These devices use cameras that connect to your smartphone or tablet and show exactly what’s going on in your home when you aren’t there. They’re especially great for when you’re at work or away on vacation.

Christmas Stockings for Dogs

Best Christmas Gifts For Dogs

Customized stockings are my all-time favorite Christmas gifts for dogs!

Fill the stocking with a variety of goodies that your dog will love. You can put some treats inside, some special toys, and even a stocking cap for added fun.

As far as stocking size goes, I recommend getting a stocking based on your dog’s size. For example, if you have a large dog, their toys and treats will naturally be larger as well, warranting a big stocking.

Feel free to choose any stocking size that suits your needs though. If you own a toy-sized dog and want to give them a Christmas they’ll go crazy for, get that giant stocking and fill it up.

If I could, I’d get an entire sleigh full of presents for my dog!

Stocking Fillers

I recommend getting one large gift and mixing in some small to medium-sized gifts.
